Gemotions

The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the apartment. Emily hummed softly, carefully arranging fresh flowers in a vase on the dining table. The scent of lilies filled the air, a fragrance she found deeply relaxing. She loved the quiet of the apartment after a long day at work.

"I still think it's a terrible idea," David announced as he walked in, dumping his keys on the counter. "Who's going to clean the litter box? I'm allergic, remember?"

Emily sighed, her fingers still gently smoothing the petals. "It's just a little kitten, David. It wouldn't be a big deal." His expression remained skeptical. She felt the comfortable warmth in her chest diminish at his words.
